Counting of airborne particle by using particle counter SOP

Title: counting of airborne particle by using particle counter.

1.0     OBJECTIVE:

To lay down a procedure for counting of airborne particle by using particle counter.

2.0     SCOPE:

This SOP shall be applicable to Q.C Dept.

3.0     RESPONSIBILITY:

3.1      Doing: Q.C Analyst.

3.2      Checking: Q.C-Manager.

4.0     ACCOUNTABILITY:

4.1      Head of the Q.C Department.

5.0     MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT:

5.1      Particle counter.

6.0     PROCEDURE:

6.1      Make sure that the instrument is clean.

6.2      Operate the apparatus according to SOP.

6.3      Remove protective cap from the inlet tube expose it to the specified room.

6.4      The count stops automatically after 35 seconds.

6.5      When the count is complete, the total number of particles counted during the count time displays.

6.6      Check results and note down readings on given Annexure-1 of both air quality and particulate matter in weight results.

6.7      Switch “ON” the air purifier for 20 minutes to clean the bad air.

6.8      Perform test again after use of air purifier to check the air quality.

6.9      Operate the apparatus according to SOP.

6.10   Results will show of both air quality and particulate matter in weight. Note it down in annexure-1.

6.11  And compare it with the standards as shown in Annexure-2 & 3.

6.12  After use power it off.
